	6/17/2009	SEPG Europe 2009 The SEPG Conference Series is the major event in the world of Capability and Maturity Models. After presentations in Europe and Asia in 2007 and 2008, Dirk Malzahn from OrgaTech / ACCEL was again invited to present at the European SEPG 2009 in Prague. His topic was the optimization of measurement gathering and management. Based on the idea that you can’t control what you can’t measure, OrgaTech / ACCEL integrates structured approaches (like GQIM) with soft skill approaches like (creative thinking). The result is a set of measurements which allows organization not only to manage and improve their projects and processes by hard factors like cost and timeline but also by soft factors like management qualification, team resilience etc. Dirk Malzahn’s presentation received high recognition as the approach not only shows how to win management and teams for a measurement program, but also proved the success of the approach bya field study based on 14 projects of different sizes and domains. 	6/12/2009	SPICE 2009 The SPICE Conference is the worldwide major event on the topic of Software Process Improvement based on ISO 15504. Dirk Malzahn from OrgaTech / ACCEL already presented the third time in a row which does not only show the quality of the current paper but also the excellent recognition OrgaTech / ACCEL enjoy in this field. Dirk Malzahn’s 2009 paper integrates the world of process improvement with the field of data quality. After most organizations have already performed initiatives to improve their product and process quality, they now recognize that the data does not fulfill the basic quality requirements needed for a successful and resilient delivery. Based on the leading standards of each domain, Dirk Malzahn has developed an approach to evaluate the capability of an organization to manage and improve the quality of the data. This approach – called IQ-SPICE – awakens high interest in both communities, process improvement and data quality. Paper, presentation and the approach itself are available for download.
